About Works

The Danshaku Lounge (“baron's lounge”), a commercial facility that connects local communities, people and things in Hakodate, Hokkaido opened in April 2019. The facility name derives from Baron Ryukichi Kawada who cultivated the danshaku potatoes and is famous for his contribution to modern agriculture.


Quaras provided comprehensive facility production, planning and design, merchandising, and operational support. It was also awarded the Nihon Kukan Design Award 2019 Best 100, which has great influence in Japan and overseas.
